Services / everyday work

Helpdesk for employees

When an employee loses access, has a device problem or needs a workstation prepared, they should have a clear route to help. A helpdesk organises ongoing support so the team can return to its work sooner.

LM-BIT's role

Support grounded in the team's everyday tools.

When an employee joins, support can include preparing a workstation and agreed access; a role change may call for adjusted permissions, and a departure for their removal. These requests connect devices with accounts and services the team uses.

When similar requests recur as the team changes, or workstation issues repeat, it helps to agree how employees and devices are supported on an ongoing basis. The helpdesk then forms part of the agreed responsibility for the environment, not only a response to isolated requests.

What it can include

From an immediate issue to an organised workstation.

The scope is agreed around the company's tools and the team's needs.

User support

Help with issues involving devices, access and the tools used at work.

Workstations and devices

Preparing and configuring a workstation for a new colleague, and support when a device changes.

Team changes

Support with granting, changing and removing agreed access when an employee joins, changes role or leaves.

Example activities

Support that accounts for the context of work.

The sequence depends on the request and the services to which it relates.

  • Identify an issue with a device, system, access or work tool.
  • Prepare a workstation or change agreed access when the team changes.
  • Establish whether the matter also needs network, server, email or security administration.
  • Document agreed information needed for further support.

What this supports

Fewer interruptions and less uncertainty in daily work.

  • Faster organisation of matters that stop an employee working.
  • Clearer responsibility for devices, access and tools.
  • Less need to involve the business owner in repeated technical issues.

Scope of collaboration

Every environment has different tools and dependencies.

The helpdesk scope depends on the number of users, devices, services in use and agreed way of working.

Remote helpdesk from PLN 200/hour and on-site support from PLN 250/hour belong to the ongoing-support catalogue. Standard remote assistance outside an ongoing agreement starts at PLN 250/hour.

User support can lead to work in other areas, but that scope is considered according to the actual cause and the company's needs.
